Verb + person + to-infinitive
人要用賓格:me、you、him、her、us、them 或人名。
O + to V | I want you to come. |
O + not to V | She told me not to worry. |
| 主要動詞的否定 | don't / didn't + 動詞 + O + to V | They didn't ask us to stay. |
| 疑問式 | do / did + 主語 + 動詞 + O + to V? | Do you want me to help? |
| 被動語態 | be + V3 + to V | We were asked to wait. |
中文說“我想要你來”,學習者常說成 “I want that you come” 或 “I want you come”。英語三個部分缺一不可:want + you + to come。人要用賓格:want him(不是 he)to come。
1. 想要、期望、需要:want、would like、expect、need
My parents want me to study medicine.
I'd like you to meet my cousin, Hoa.
The coach expects us to train every morning.

make 和 let 接“人 + 動詞原形”,沒有 to——見“‘make / let’ 某人做某事”一課。
|---|---|---|
| hope | I hope (that) you like it. | I hope you to like it. |
| suggest | I suggest (that) you rest. / I suggest resting. | I suggest you to rest. |
| say | She told me to wait. / She said (that) I should wait. | She said me to wait. |
| explain | Can you explain to me how it works? | Can you explain me how it works? |
| make / let | They made us wait. / Let me go. | They made us to wait. / Let me to go. |
I recommend booking early / I recommend (that) you book early。
I'd advise you to bring a raincoat. / I'd advise bringing a raincoat.
