good at, interested in, afraid of, worried about — תארים שמתחברים תמיד עם מילת יחס קבועה
1.התבנית
הרבה שמות תואר באנגלית דורשים מילת יחס קבועה כשמשהו בא אחריהם: adjective + preposition + noun / pronoun / -ing. בדרך כלל אי אפשר לנחש את מילת היחס, לכן כדאי ללמוד את כל הצירוף: ללמוד afraid of, לא רק afraid.

- It's typical of sb to + פועל = בדיוק מה שהאדם הזה עושה בדרך כלל. זה נשמע לעתים קרובות קצת מעוצבן.
- אחרי sure ו-certain אין מילת יחס לפני משפט: I'm sure (that) he'll come.
- with + האדם, ואז for + הסיבה: angry with me for being late.
It's typical of Nam to forget his keys.

The hospital is short of nurses.

4.שם תואר אחד, מילת יחס שונה
יש שמות תואר שמחליפים את מילת היחס שלהם לפי אם בא אחריהם אדם או דבר — או שהמשמעות משתנה.

5.קל לבלבל: full, married, dependent
בקבוצות האלה, שינוי קטן במילה או במה שבא אחריה משנה את מילת היחס.

6.הבדלים בין בריטית, אמריקאית ויום-יומית
- different from מקובל בכל מקום; דוברי בריטית גם אומרים different to, ובאמריקאית נפוץ different than.
- angry with מישהו הוא הצורה הבריטית התקנית; angry at מישהו נפוץ מאוד באנגלית אמריקאית.
- surprised / shocked / amazed at וגם by — שתיהן נכונות.
- bored with היא הצורה התקנית; bored of נפוצה מאוד בשפה היומיומית.
- married to באה עם be / get: She got married to a man from Hue. אבל הפועל marry לא מקבל מילת יחס: She married him.
אל תתרגמו את מילת היחס מהשפה שלכם — לרוב היא שונה באנגלית: married to + אדם (לא with), good at, similar to, afraid of. תלמדו כל שם תואר עם מילת היחס שלו כיחידה אחת.
7.טעויות נפוצות
