There are four parts to the test.

5
Write your answers on the question paper.
6
You will have six minutes at the end of the test to copy your answers onto the answer sheet.
7
The recording will now be stopped.
8
Please ask any questions now because you must not speak during the test.
9
Now open your question paper and look at part one.
10
There are seven questions in this part.
11
For each question, there are three pictures and a short recording.
12
Choose the correct picture and put a tick in the box below it.
13
Before we start, here is an example.
14
What's the time?
15
Have you got the time?
16
Yes, it's twenty past three.
17
The first picture is correct, so there is a tick in box A.
18
Look at the three pictures for question one now.
19
Now we are ready to start.
20
Listen carefully.
21
You will hear each recording twice.
22
1. How did the woman get to work today?
23
Oh, I'm so sorry I'm late.
24
I missed the bus.
25
I was trying to decide whether to walk or go back and get my bike when I saw my neighbour.
26
Luckily, he offered me a lift because he works near here.
27
Now listen again.
28

2. Where does the pollution come from?
33
The stream is really dirty by the time it reaches the valley, but we've discovered where the pollution comes from.
34
We already knew that the water was pure in the mountains at the top, so we realised the pollution must come from somewhere in the forest.
35
There is a village above the forest, but we tested the water there and it was fine.
36
Now listen again.

41
The football match starts at 2.30, but we should get there at half past one.
42
The coach will pick us up at ten to one, as it'll take us about 40 minutes to drive there.
43
So we'll meet in the school car park.
44
Don't be late, boys, will you?
45
Now listen again.

69
Is the book in this bag for Mum, then?
70
I didn't think she was particularly interested in flowers.
71
I thought she'd like it, to give her some good ideas for the garden.
72
And even if she never reads it, it's got some lovely photos.
73
I thought you were going to get those gloves I showed you in that shop last Saturday.
74
They match the scarf I've bought her.
75
Now listen again.

  • L'intonazione nelle domande: Nelle frasi come "Have you got the time?", l'intonazione sale alla fine.
