Oh, Louise, hi.
13
I've just arrived for my singing lesson with Mrs Thompson.
14
What are you doing here?
15
I've come for a singing lesson too.
16
Well, if it's a secret, I won't tell anyone.
17
It's OK, Louise.
18
I'm going to be in a musical show, so everyone will know soon.
19
Really?
20
But can you actually sing then?
21
Well, I was taught to sing at school, you know.
22
But now I'm in the show, I thought I'd better have a few more lessons.
23
Good idea.
24
What do you think of Mrs Thompson?
25
She's really strict, isn't she?
26
She is, but I think if you want to sing properly, then she's the best teacher.
27
You don't have to like her to see that she's really brilliant.
28
Oh, I suppose so.
29
It's just that she makes me feel so nervous.
30
How did you get chosen for the show?
31
Well, I went to see a few musical shows before Christmas.
32
I don't know why, because I'd never really liked them before.
33
And I thought I'd like to do that.
34
So I tried for a part in the show at the Regent Theatre.
35
and got it.
36
Well done.
37
So have you actually done a show yet?
38
Yes, we've done a practice show just for family and friends.
39
So how did you feel?
40
Well, when we'd finished, I wanted to cry because I was
41
so delighted that I'd actually got through it without making any big mistakes.
42
But did people like it?
43
Yes, they did.
44
And it was great to have an audience.
45
I would love to be able to sing and Have everybody listen and clap.
46
It's quite hard to do a musical show, actually.
47
You have to dance as well as sing.
48
It's hard work to get it right.
49
Oh, I wouldn't be keen on that.
50
I'm only a singer, really.
51
When does the show open?
52
On the 9th of October.

Was du lernst

In "I wanted to cry because I was so delighted" liegt die Betonung auf "cry" und "delighted" – das macht die Emotion sichtbar.
